Monster Jam ends January with a NoLa BLOWOUT...!!!

Racing and freestyle action were at a premium, this last night of January. Before the Super Bowl rocks Tampa, Florida....12 monsters went wild and crazy inside the Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. Overall, there was action from Maximum Destruction rolling in introductions all the way through Adam Anderson's wild Tazmanian Devil ride ended on it's lid to end freestyle. Highlights during the show included another strong showing from the one they call Brutus and Chris Bergeron making the final four in racing, Chuck Werner making it to the final round of a SPEED televised show, however was out muscled by the Bounty Hunter and Jimmy 'FastLigthin' Creten. Air Force Afterburner made sure that he won the race and that he won it in style, as he plants the truck in a wild crash to defeat the Avenger monster truck after the finish line. Unfortunately, Bradshaw would be done for the night, and little did we know Team Scream would be done after the semi-finals of racing as well. Freestyle action was hot and heavy as highlights included, Jimmy Creten pogoin'g his way and finally plowing into a dumpster to end his run, hometown Sean Duhon doing his Nawlins family proud and putting on a action packed 90 second freestyle run, Iron Outlaw taking the Creten power and putting into orbit(literally), Kreg 'FlippinAintEasy' Christensen keeping it on all fours to be able to lay claim to save of the month honors, Dennis Anderson laying down a legendary run inside Grave Digger XX, and the other Anderson, Adam letting all fans inside the NoLa Dome know that the Anderson name lives on with a strong and stellar freestyle performace. Overall this was one of the better stadium shows that I have witnessed, even with only nine trucks freestyling, every fan inside the sold out Superdome were treated to a top notch show by FELD Motorsports. After a little hiatus, I look forward to catching you guys later in Feb, but stay tuned as there will be plenty more to report on throuhgout the month.....!!!!!

Monster Jam invades the Dome of Super proportions....!!!

For the second straight year since Hurrican Katrina shutdown events inside the Superdome, the New Orleans area will enjoy the other Superbowl. The Superbowl of Motorsports that is, with 12 top notch beast ready to take aim at racing, freestyle, and the ever elusive Double Down trophy. Dennis Anderson in Grave Digger has laid claim to the East tour since his return from West Coast shows in 2008, with racing and freestyle wins coming at a pace faster than Dale Jr. at Talladega Motorspeedway. He looks to rock the house in New Orleans, but in order to due so, faces a very stacked and we do mean stacked lineup of 11 other trucks that are previous World Champions and World Finals birth caliber trucks. First and foremost he will face off against the other Anderson, Adam who is looking to rock the Superdome Taz style and show why he was crowned the 2008 World Finals Freestyle champion, almost 365 days ago. You have Jim Koehler in Avenger with his brand new piece returning to the venue that the world famous TNT Motor Madness crash occurred a few years back, however this time he brings that ever frisky Brutus along with him and Chris Bergeron. Team Scream is enjoying a good season so far as the racesource that Bergeron has, and the in-house chassis that Koehler has have performed well so far. Then you have Damon 'Let It All Hang Out' Bradshaw in the Airforce Afterburner, after already staking his claim at a World Finals birth, Damon looks to get back to his high flying antics inside the very spacy Superdome, and let the legs out on the Afterburner to take his shot at a racing and freestyle victory. We also have Team Bounty/Outlaw in the house with the 2005 World Finals freestyle champion Jimmy Creten piloting Bounty Hunter and the teammate truck, the Iron Outlaw with Jim Miller at the helm. Long story short, with Creten horsepower, you are never out of a race, and always have the power to do well in a freestyle. You also have the hometown favorite, Sean 'THE' Duhon in the Sudden Impact Racing's Cult Energy Activator truck. This will be a new body for Monster Jam fans that are used to seeing Duhon in the Amsoil Shock Therapy, T-Maxx, or Sudden Impact bodied trucks, however it is still the same Duhon behind the wheel, and we are sure that he is looking to do well infront of his hometown fans. Then we have one of the most impressive drivers that the sport has seen since Bradshaw with Cam McQueen and the Pastrana199/Nitro Circus, coming soon to an MTV station near you(shamless plug). McQueen, just like his partner Pastrana loves the air, and can lay down a freestyle, as proved in Atlanta that can stand the test of time and pull out a freestyle victory if the cards play out right for him. Then we have 1-800-safe-auto with Marc McDonald at the helm, anytime this Oklahoma native gets behind the wheel, you are sure that you better be ready for a show as he can easily upset the field and taking both the racing and freestyle victory home inside the Safe Auto Minimizer Ford. Last but not least, we have Kreg 'Flippin Aint Easy' Christensen piloting Max D and Chuck Werner in a truck that don't take No Bull in Bulldozer. This tandem has struggled to find their way so far in the first month of the winter quarter, but look to recapture some of that magic tonight as they close out the first month's events.

Stay tuned for more pics, coverage, and all that monster truck action you love, from inside the NoLa Dome......!!!!!!!

Digger sweeps Atlanta

Breakage was the biggest winner in Atlanta, as several races were one sided due to breakage or flips. Overall in the end it was the newest qualifier for the World Finals X in Las Vegas taking the racing, freestyle, and double down trophy back home to North Carolina. Dennis Anderson muscled his way to a finals win over Gun Slinger and Scott Hartsock, who rolled his truck nearing the end of the 5 lap shootout for it all. In freestyle, Anderson was able to keep up the momentum, a jump here, a jump there and take the freestyle win, even with superb runs from George in Escalade and Cam McQueen in the Pastrana199 truck. Look for full coverage from the Birmingham, AL Friday night Monster Jam and Atlanta's Monster Jam this coming week....!!!!! Until then, let these marinate in your eyes.......!!!!

2009 Monster Jam Season

Welcome to 2009 and the season that we all love. Rather it be Monster Jam, CFP, Amp'd, or any other promoter we all have the chance to enjoy a sport that I am sure most of us have enjoyed since we were kids. Anywho, I decided that since I will be on the road a lot during the first quarter, I wanted to be able to share my pics, experiences, interviews, and all that fun stuff with all of my monster truck family. The first coverage of the year will come this weekend, as I attend shows in Birmingham, Alabama on January 9th and Atlanta, Georgia on January 10th.

Birmingham, Alabama monster trucks include Grave Digger driven by Randy Brown, El Toro Loco driven by Chris Baker, the return of Pure Adrenalin', Bad News Travels Fast piloted by Bruce Haney, Sudden Impact Racing's Excaliber and Shock Therapy, and Instigator.

Atlanta, Georgia's all-star monster truck lineup includes the 27 year veteran Dennis Anderson and the famous Grave Digger monster truck, ESCALADE driven by George Balhan, Pastrana 199 driven by Cam McQueen, Safe Auto piloted by Marc McDonald, the father and son one-two punch of Eradicator and Backdraft driven by Andy and Jeremy Slifko, Team Cocked and Locked with Gunslinger and Cowboy, Blue Thunder with Linsey Weenk at the helm, Bulldozer with Chuck Werner driving, the fastest thing on 66 inch tires War Wizard with Randy Moore at the helm, and the only 7 time world champion monster truck in history Maximum Destruction with Kreg 'Flippin ain't easy' Christensen.

Look for more full details, pictures, coverages, heck maybe even a video or two from this weekend's huge action(and not any live coverage video...sorry about that FELD)
